Canoe rental questions
How much is a canoe rental?
Canoes are $50/boat + tax for the 8 mile and 10 mile trips, and $75/boat + tax for the 16 mile trip. Shuttle, paddles and life jackets are included.
How many people fit in a canoe?
Canoes are limited to 2 adults only. A 3rd person is allowed only at our discretion and must be a child 12 or under.
Are paddles and life jackets included?
Yes. Every canoe rental includes paddles, USCG-approved life jackets, shuttle transportation to or from the river, and parking. If you bring your own boat, you must bring your own paddle and life jacket — we sell both in the camp store.
Do I need experience to paddle a canoe?
No. The Buffalo River is class 1 and 2 with no whitewater, so first-time paddlers do fine. Staff will go over the route and the pickup point before you launch, and we have a mile marker sheet for the 10 mile trip — just ask for one.
Do canoe rentals require a reservation?
No. Canoes, kayaks, campsites and personal boat transports are first come, first served. Cabins and lodge rooms are the only things that require a reservation. Renting 10+ canoes? Call the office for group pricing.
